Hello!
I am a gun collector from Hungary. I collect deactivated firearms from both World War I and II. I am also interested in military airguns and not long ago I managed to obtain a very nice VZ. 47 military air rifle. After the first few shots however the bolt stuck in position. I cannot turn it upwards. Is the problem something simple or do I have to get a whole replacement bolt for the rifle? My other question is that so far I have been using lead 4.5mm BBs for shooting but since they are hard to get I bought steel BBs instead. Do the steel BBs cause barrel/rifling wear or am I safe to use them in the gun?
If someone here speaks english well and knows about this gun please help. Thanks.

Re: VZ.47 questions
Even I am not specialist guess it will be something simple.
I remember that my grandfather had one when I was a child.
It was necessary to use a huge power to load it as per my point of view and due to I was not strong enough time to time happen that the loading bar was jammend in the middle of way.
After that my father had to use more power to finish the cycle but sometimes more power was not enough and rifle had to be disassembled.
But this is my experience only and your problem could be different.

Re: VZ.47 questions
This airgun is caliber 4,46 mm. In Czech republic is possible to buy Shots No. 10 (4,46mm). What can you buy in Hungary I really don't know.

Re: VZ.47 questions
Surely they will damage the barrel rifling faster than proper lead bullets with smaller diameter ..MidnightWolf píše:I bought steel BBs instead. Do the steel BBs cause barrel/rifling wear or am I safe to use them in the gun?
Pořádná bouchačka je z plastu a oceli, a nosí se v kydexovém pouzdru.

Re: VZ.47 questions
Thanks for the answers! I have found what my rifle's problem is: there is a broken part inside so I probably must replace a bunch of other things along with that so I decided to sell the gun instead. The repair would cost more money than the rifle itself, considering that I'd need to import everything from the Czech Republic...(even the ammunition to shoot)
